Day 10
(Matt)

THE NEXT MORNING!!!!    we both woke up at the same time... and nearly ran outside to the back deck... because we could hear last night how close we were to the ocean.... and we just about had a heart attack at what we get to live next to for the next week!

this picture doesn't even do the view justice. We knew from the internet pictures of the property that it looked close... but what it didn't show was how you got to stand on top of old lava flows at the edge of the coast as the waves crash into the rocks, sea turtles, sharks, and all kinds of fish swim by. Truly AMAZING!

after calming ourselves from all the OOOHHHH's and AAAHHHHH's of the place... we went out to downtown Hilo's farmers market.... which makes Cincinnati's Findaly Market look like a hot dog stand.
lots of exotic fruits and veggies..... we got some PURPLE potatoes for cooking dinner tonight... as well as one of the biggest, softest avacados ever... didn't know that over 80 kinds of avacados grow here in Hawaii. Jenny snagged some coconut brittle candy, and we got us each a tshirt and some souveniers for friends and family.
Tons of crazy flowers that grow in the jungles....
this dude was cutting coconuts for people to drink from like a machine. His machette was a blur!

We stopped at the local grocery store for supplies for the week... you can certainly tell that coffee is grown here... there's a whole isle dedicated just for coffees.

We got back home and cracked open a bottle of RUM and quickly drank half of it, and sat out and watched the sun go down and the full moon come up and saw a cruise ship pass by. The moon is so bright tonight, it's the only light needed.

 TURTLES!!!!!!!!!!!  in our backyard!!!!

here's what our spot looks like from standing by the sea cliffs.
the sweet-ass kitchen!! viking pro appliances!!

CRABBIES!!!

....... Ain't mad about this view for a week!

you can see the cruise ship on the horizon.
and we may need a new bottle of alcohol tomorrow!!!!
